Job Description:

Franklin, TN, location of major company has an opening for a Systems Engineer who will be a member of the technical team primarily responsible for server hardware, server software, virtual machines, and other IT operations.

The following is a list of the main essential duties and responsibilities of the position:

?Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of server operating systems, software packages, underlying network systems at our corporate and branch office locations in compliance with business processing requirements.

?Works with many different software solutions/tools (i.e. anti-virus, encryption, communications/messaging, help desk, inventory, web servers, monitoring, etc.)

?Schedules, monitors, and tests backups and various types of replication.

?Schedules and performs installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

?Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operation of the Information Systems department

?Will provide support to client/server based applications and serve as a second tier level of support for the help desk staff.

?Conducts periodic server and network device audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

?Maintains a comprehensive operating system, hardware, and software database/library as well as supporting documentation.

?Monitors LAN, WAN, and Servers; including performance evaluations.

?Assists Network Engineers with local area and wide area networking devices, as needed.

?Acts independently or in concert with others on projects without the need for close supervision.

?Will perform other duties and functions as assigned by the IT management staff.

Qualifications:

?Bachelor?s Degree in Information Technology preferred.

?Several years of Server/Networking support experience in a corporate environment.

?MCSA/MCSE 2000/2003 certification extremely helpful.

?Experience with VMWare extremely helpful.
