What you will do:

The Lead LPN is responsible for the effective administration, coordination and presentation of the Wellness (direct care) training and development programs. This position is also responsible for assuring adequate and appropriate staffing of the community nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget, census and as may be directed by community Leadership. The Lead LPN helps ensure that the Wellness department is operated efficiently and in compliance with all applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, providing the highest possible standard of care through effective use of the nursing process. The Wellness nurse assists with orientation and education of the resident care team and may serve as a supervisor for the community in the absence of all department managers.

Duties:

* Support consistent delivery of quality wellness services as measured by:
* Deficiency free state and/or federal surveys in the area of training demonstrating that associates have been trained per state requirements.
* Resident Satisfaction Survey levels meet or exceed company averages signifying that the training program promotes the delivery of quality care & services.
* Compliance of 100% with on-line training materials.
* Support the achievement of the financial objectives of the facility as measured by:
* Wellness department labor of distribution demonstrates efficient and effective use of approved hours.
* Manage overtime hours within the guidelines as outlined by the Wellness Director
* Deliver on commitment to be an especially good place of work as measured by:
* Achievement of efficient and cost-effective scheduling Wellness staff.
* Serve as a liaison and point of contact for scheduling needs.
* Achievement of benchmark retention objectives.

Additional Duties:

* Works beyond normal working hours and days and in other positions temporarily, as necessary for effective resident care and community operation.
* Assists with community special events, including outreach to the greater community.
* Lives the Dominion Senior Living culture in all aspects of the position; demonstrates the Dominion Senior Living "L.O.V.E." model and professionalism when interacting with residents, resident representatives, team members, and the general public.
* Engages in open communication within and between community departments and is cooperative.
* Attends and actively participates in team meetings and required or optional continuing education programs.
* Assists in the evacuation of residents as necessary.
* Maintains the confidentiality of all resident information and honors the residents' personal property rights.
* Maintains a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
* Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Director or Central Services.

Education, Experience, Licensure/Certification, Age Requirement:

* Active LPN/LVN license from the State of the community is required.
* Must successfully complete a CPR and First Aid course and maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
* Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State of the community.
* Experience with seniors and especially cognitively impaired seniors (those with Alzheimer's or Dementia) is preferred.
* A minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare community.
* Approved criminal background check, physical, drug screen and TB skin test is required.
* Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly stands, bends, talks, hears, walks, sits, climbs stairs, stoops, uses hands and fingers to touch, handle, and feel, reaches with hands and arms, lifts and/or moves items of up to 50 pounds. The team member occasionally lifts and transfers residents, using proper body mechanics and physically assists residents in and out of into and out of wheelchairs, beds, stretchers, stationary chairs and vehicles as needed.
